Corrections

An authority that hides its mistakes isn't one. Here is exactly what happens when CRI gets something wrong.

Effective and last reviewed:

Report an error

Email hila@victoryroofer.com with the page URL and the issue, or use the contact form. Anyone may report an error — readers, contractors, manufacturers, competitors. The source of the report never affects how it is handled.

What happens next

  1. Acknowledgment. We confirm receipt as promptly as we can, and correction reports are prioritised over other correspondence.
  2. Verification. The claim is checked against sources under our Editorial Standards.
  3. Correction. Verified factual errors are corrected as soon as verification completes. We would rather be right than fast, but we do not sit on confirmed errors.
  4. Disclosure. Material corrections are noted on the corrected page with the date and nature of the change.

What counts as material

  • Errors that could change a reader’s decision (costs, service life, code requirements, warranty conditions, safety guidance) are always material and always disclosed.
  • Typos and formatting fixes that do not change meaning are corrected silently.

Disagreements that aren’t errors

Sometimes qualified people disagree with our conclusions without a factual error being involved. Where a substantive methodological objection has merit, we update the page or add the competing view with its evidence — see Methodology.
